Can anyone name this french film?

I think it's from the 1990's (no earlier than late '80s and no later
than '97) and I'm almost certain it was French (I watched it years
ago, probably mid-to-late '90s, and I was concentrating on the
subtitles).
It was a drama about a young woman (20-25 y/o?) and she left (I'm not
sure where) to go and stay/live in a small beachside community where
she became friends with her neighbour.
It was atleast 'cert 15' (UK) and when I watched it it was on very
late probably on channel 4 or the BBC (2?).
I think it had a colour in the title, but I'm certainly not confident
about this, I don't think it was any of the Three Colours trilogy and
certainly wasn't Amelie.
